She married (1) John Morehouse July 15, 1892 in Sterling, Polk, Wisconsin, son of Francis Morehouse and Julia Longsbury. He was born April 14, 1864 in Possibly Melrose, Stearns County, Minnesota, and died June 08, 1940 in Yamhill County, Oregon certificate # 142. She married (2) William Manning September 1944. He died 1944.

Mother of Polk Co. Folks Passes Away At Theif River Falls

Death came to Mrs. Clara Morehouse Manning May 31st at Mercy Hospital in Theif River Falls, after an illness of several months. At the time of her death she was 76 years, 6 months and 26 days old. Funeral Services were held and burial made at Theif River Falls.

Mrs. Clara Morehouse Manning was born at Big River, Wis., Nov. 5, 1874, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nick. She grew to womanhood in Wisconsin and was united in marriage in that state to John Morehouse on July 15, 1891.

To this union 11 children were born.

They continued to live in Wisconsin until 1912 when they moved to Beltrami County, Minn., where they resided for several years. Mr. Morehouse passed away several years ago. Mrs. Morehouse moved to the Middle River community about 1930. She was united in marriage to William Manning in September 1944. Mr. Manning passing later that year.

Mrs. Manning was loved and respected by a large circle of friends. She was a friendly lady, easy to become aquainted with, and her passing is deeply mourned.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Edith Smith of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Oliver Lamb of Warroad, Minn.; Mrs. Alvin Moe of Malung, Minn.; Mrs. Glenn Curtis of Middle River; and 4 sons; Wm. Morehouse of Boise, Idaho; Chas Morehouse of Brewster, Kansas; Edw. Morehouse of Billings, Montana; and John Morehouse of Stanfield; Also by five brothers and 6 sisters; Jesse Nick Cushing, Wis.;Harriet Nelson St. Croix Falls; Nellie Nick St. Croix Falls; Charles Nick Lindstrom; Jennie Doty of Minneapolis; Susie Nesbitt, Duluth; Henry Nick, Duluth; Vern Nick, Duluth; Percy Nick, Portland, Ore.;May Doty, Texas; Elmina Peterson, Clear Lake, Wis.
