May 31, 2003 Welcome to the wonderful world of our non-human family. We've reorganized a bit and put all the photos in a gallery. Meet all of our beloved critters: Abby: our American Eskimo, we've had her since October 2000. She'll be 10 years old soon. She is the absolute best - so happy and friendly. Kashi: Julie has had Kashi since she was a kitten - over 12 years now. Kashi is just as fiesty as she was when a kitten, although not quite as destructive (thank God!). Spanky & Icky: Mother and daughter, respectively, these lovebirds have been with us since both were babies. Icky, of course, hatched right here and was handfed by both Rob and Julie. Now they both try to eat our fingers on a regular basis. Spooky: Our ball python, Rob has had Spooky since February 1997. Ball pythons can live ten years or more. Spooky eats about once every other week (live food-yuck!) and tends to hibernate for about half the year (which means he just doesn't eat for six months). Ball Pythons are known for being very gentle pets, but can be very finicky eaters.
Babou: Aka "Babs," our little bunny has been with us since we bought our house. He belonged to the previous owners and was part of a trade. He is very tiny, with short floppy ears. He was kept outside before we lived here, but now lives in the house with us. He is learning to trust us, but it's a slow process. We had him neutered earlier this year, which has helped with the "marking of territory" problem that plagued us in the beginning. Babs is a wonderful little pet - very gentle and cute. |
